Javier Avila is professor of humanities and social sciences at Northampton Community College, 2015 Pennsylvania Professor of the Year honoree, 2016 Hispanic Leader of the Year and 2021 recipient of the William Aguilar Cultural Award. With Ávila’s unique blend of comedy and poetry, The Perfect Latino offers a close examination of the American Latino experience. People of all ages and from all walks of life enjoy the stories interspersed with Ávila’s original poetry. Powerful, moving, and profoundly educational, The Perfect Latino transcends boundaries of color, ethnicity, and geography.
