Noisefest is an experimental music festival featuring performances by local and touring noise musicians. Attendees will be immersed in the genre of noise, with sensory-rich performances in multiple spaces inside and immediately outside of Project Project. The event is free and open to the public. Lecture "Friction, Feedback, and Failure: A Brief History of Noise Music,” an interactive public lecture by Dr. Seth Shafer, will trace the development of an (anti-) art movement from its roots in the Second Industrial Revolution to its proliferation as a variegated international practice, highlighting the people, tools, and techniques that made it possible as well as the problematic aesthetics and politics associated with noise.
