Prairie Art Brothers and The Archway present an evening of live poetry reading with cowboy poets R.P. Smith and Jake Riley as part of the "How the Light Gets In" poetry month celebration. Jake Riley is a nationally known cowboy poet who is based in Riverdale, Nebraska. He has presented his poetry at events from Iowa to Nevada and participated in the 2018, 2019, and 2020 National Cowboy Poetry Gatherings. In February 2023, he will be featured at the 2023 National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Nevada and at the Lone Star Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Alpine, Texas. Rancher, humorist, and cowboy poet R.P. Smith is a fourth generation rancher from central Nebraska. He comes from a waste-not, want-not culture, and cowboy poetry has given him a way to recycle some of the wrecks on the ranch into a user-friendly product, bringing smiles to the faces of listeners in seventeen states and Canada, so far.
