MORE Omaha event description:

“Many have questioned faith, spirituality, and religion in bearing witness and addressing racism in society. How can we challenge institutions and be open to other views about contemporary issues of the day? We are offering two sessions on spirituality, antiracism, and bearing witness.

Many decades ago, both Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X made public comments about the scope of religion in the struggle for social justice and civil rights. Both men cited that Sunday morning is the country’s most segregated time. Yet, many people, regardless of race, believe in the same God. How come this religious segregation still exists 60 years after their pronouncements?

We will cover two themes in this event:

1. Religion and Antiracism

2. Psychology and Anti-racism

We are open to how others share their narrative and interpretation of these critical issues of our day.

A’Jamal Byndon will moderate this event, with the principal presentation by Rev Dr. Cynthia Ramirez Lindenmeyer.

We look forward to his exciting opportunity to discuss racism and religion in a safe space.”
