61st Anniversary March On Washington Exhibition and I Have a Dream Event

August 24 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm CDT

Martin Luther King Jr. speaks into a microphone. A fluted building column is visible behind him, and a uniformed Park Ranger stands near him.

Event attendees will have an opportunity to read a portion of Dr. King’s historic “I Have A Dream” Speech and engage in thought-provoking conversations that honor the historic March on Washington. Martin Luther King III will be in attendance. Seating is limited for this outdoor event, so lawn chairs are recommended.

The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom was held in Washington, D.C., on August 28, 1963, to advocate for the civil and economic rights of African Americans. At the march, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his historic “I Have a Dream” speech in which he called for an end to racism and racial segregation.
