Through their descendants, the Wigton and Swift families continue to leave lasting impacts on Nebraska and several of its institutions, but particularly the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Description

One family came to Nebraska in 1867. The other in 1911. Both had individuals dedicated to higher education, healthcare, and leaving the world better than before they were in it. Through one love story, they were joined together in 1937. Through their descendants, the Wigton and Swift families continue to leave lasting impacts on Nebraska and several of its institutions, but particularly the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
