Award-winning author Joe Starita will be the keynote speaker of events on Saturday, July 11. Starita's presentation will discuss the legal, social, and political importance of the landmark 1879 Supreme Court decision in Nebraska, in which Native Americans were recognized as persons within the meaning of the law for the first time in U.S. history.
Curators Sarah Minshew and Russanne Hoff will take visitors on a tour of the Hastings Museum highlighting items with problematic legacy.
