A world premiere staged reading of Welcome To The Island, a new play with music by BLIXT Playwriting Fellow Ryan J. Furlong, will take place August 25th at 7 PM at Lincoln Community Foundation. This fascinating and provocative new work is the culmination of Ryan’s year as a BLIXT Fellow and is directed by BLIXT Director of Education and Engagement, Reanna Rohrer. Admission is free.

“Welcome to the island, a place where four aspiring musicians carry tunes…but also secrets. When the truth comes out, who will be ready to face the music?”

New work goes through many processes before making its way to the stage, including intensive dramaturgy, table reads, staged readings, workshops and more. It is a rigorous but important path for the playwright, and having the support of an audience that understands and respects the process is vital to the growth of a script.
