Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra 2021-2022 Pre-Concert Chats
November 12, 2021 @ 6:45 pm - 7:30 pm CDT
Hosted and moderated by Genevieve Randall, Music Director for Nebraska Public Media and host of The Verge and Friday LIVE, the LSO presents pre-concert chats. Each chat begins with a discussion between Randall and the featured soloists or composers for the evening, followed by a discussion with LSO Conductor Edward Polochick.
The pre-concert chats are designed to help those in attendance get better acquainted with the history and cultural significance of the repertoire being performed later. They provide information about the composer’s life, historical context of when the music was written, and relevance of the music to life today.
The 20-30 minute chat will be pre-recorded and screened in the Lied Center for Performing Arts’ Steinhart Room at 6:45 p.m. for the LSO concerts on October 15 (An Evening with Mark Markham), November 12 (Brandenburg and Becker), February 4 (Wherefore Art Though Anton?), February 20 (Stravinsky, Still & White), April 22 (Beethoven’s Ninth), and May 8 (Renée Fleming in Concert).
