Gallery Talk: Marta Turok on Textiles and Identity of Frida Kahlo

Dr. Marta Turok is an Anthropologist and Curator in Mexico City who has specialized in Mexican textile traditions. Dr Turok will present a Gallery Talk on “Mirrors of the Soul: Textiles and Identity of Frida Kahlo” / “Espejo del Alma: Textiles e Identidad en Frida Kahlo” followed by a discussion. During the presentation, Dr. Turok will discuss the tradition of weaving in Oaxaca and the traditional dress that is characteristic of the women in Oaxaca.

This lecture is in conjunction with the “Frida Kahlo and the Blue House” exhibition at El Museo Latino.
