Lecture
“Friction, Feedback, and Failure: A Brief History of Noise Music,” an interactive public lecture by Dr. Seth Shafer, will trace the development of an (anti-) art movement from its roots in the Second Industrial Revolution to its proliferation as a variegated international practice, highlighting the people, tools, and techniques that made it possible as well as the problematic aesthetics and politics associated with noise.
