Dedication and opening of “Nebraskans in the Civil War” Exhibit

July 4 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am CDT

During the Seward 4th of July celebration, a new “Nebraskans in the Civil War” exhibit at the Nebraska National Guard Museum will be dedicated. The exhibit describes the importance of the First Nebraska Infantry and the rise of General Grant in the American Civil War in the Fort Donelson exhibit in the Early Guard Era section of the museum. The event will feature re-enactors of the First Nebraska Infantry (NENG) and encampment next to the dedication site in front of the museum.

The museum will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 4, so visitors can view the new exhibit, in addition to the Higgens Boat that saved WWII and the “Weasel” from the Blizzard of ’49.
