Not only did the Custer County native survive the carnage on the battlefields, he lived another 85 years becoming Nebraska’s last living World War I veteran. The program describes Edmisten’s firsthand accounts of his military service, as well as reflecting on the contributions and sacrifices of other Nebraskans during the Great War.
