SUMMARY:Cosmic Optics: Exploring Divergence Through Visual Art
DESCRIPTION:Voices AMPLIFIED! is a cultural engagement series that celebrates artists from diverse cultures and creates opportunities for discussion\, reflection\, and new experiences. Each season elevates a different historically underrepresented community by pairing international and national touring artists with local artists and organizations for panel discussions\, workshops\, and other special events. The 24/25 Season will continue amplifying voices from past seasons with a special focus on voices with disabilities. \nExperience a special gallery event featuring artists with disabilities at Hot Shops. Some of the featured artists will be present and engage in a Q&A. \nTickets are required. The suggested ticket price is $10\, but options to pay more or less are available\, including a free ticket for people for whom cost is a barrier. SUMMARY:127 Years of Dracula from Myth to Movies and Much\, Much More
DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with a stage production of “Dracula: the Journal of Jonathan Harker”\, Bluebarn Theatre is presenting a series of community engagement events with Dacre Stoker\, the great grand-nephew of Bram Stoker and the international best-selling co-author of Dracula the Un-Dead (2009)\, and Dracul (2018). \nAll aboard for a fast-paced survey originating with actual vampire hysteria of the 1700’s in Europe through vampires in literature\, on stage\, movies\, television\, musicals\, opera\, and merchandise. \nDacre is also the co-editor of The Lost Journal of Bram Stoker: The Dublin Years (2012). He has published Stoker on Stoker Dracula Revealed (2022) a companion book to his informative audio visual presentations. In 2022 Dacre and Robert Eighteen Bisang published Dracula Annotated for the 125th Anniversary\, a culmination of years of research\, this version includes many of the passages edited out of the final Dracula typescript\, including the first three chapters and the original ending.
