Biography

Bill Behmer is a founder of LAFTA, the Lincoln Association for Traditional Arts. He served as the organization’s artistic director for more than 10 years and received the 1998 Mayor’s Arts Award from the Lincoln Arts Council for his volunteer work promoting old-time folk music. In addition to fiddle and harmonica, Bill plays the mountain dulcimer and is a three-time Midwest dulcimer champion. He has done extensive research into the history and playing styles of this American folk instrument.
