SUMMARY:Crane River Theater “Pretty Fire” Touring Production (students only)
DESCRIPTION:Crane River Theater Company will tour a performance of “Pretty Fire” to high schools across Nebraska. Each performance will be followed by a talkback discussion with the actor and director about the themes and topics of the production. \n“Pretty Fire” is a one-woman show by Charlayne Woodard\, set in the 1950s and 60s in the American south. This award-winning play addresses topics like race\, diversity\, and the civil rights movement\, but the entire play is told through the eyes of a child with stories about her family. The actress will portray more than 20 characters\, bringing these stories to life. It’s a unique way for students to connect to that period of history\, in a way that isn’t often presented. \nMonday\, April 15\, 6:45pm – Arapahoe High School\nThursday\, April 18\, 10:00am – Elwood High School\nWednesday\, April 24\, 1:00pm – Schuyler High School\nFriday\, April 26\, 12:45pm – Crete High School\nMonday\, April 29\, 2:00pm – McCook High School\nMonday\, April 30\, 1:00pm – Kearney High School
