The 10th annual Prairie Pride Film Festival is proud to present the following new film to play in its main program.

BREAKING FAST (d. Mike Mosallam, USA)

2019 | 92min |English, Arabic

Set against a vibrant West Hollywood backdrop during the holy month of Ramadan, Mo navigates life after heartbreak with faith, food, and the promise of a new relationship.

Breaking out of your shell in West Hollywood can be overwhelming, especially when you’re a practicing gay Muslim like Mo (Haaz Sleiman, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan). But on the first night of Islam’s holiest holiday, Mo’s longtime boyfriend Hassan abruptly breaks off their relationship, leaving him heartbroken and without a sous chef for iftar. Romance with the All-American Kal may be just around the corner if only he can keep his thoughts pure and the past behind him in Mike Mosallam’s charming Ramadan rom-com.
