Fort Kearny Outdoor Expo - Heritage Encampment

The Fort Kearny Outdoor Expo is committed to providing a diversity of hands-on educational activities & demonstrations to connect youth, adults & families to the great outdoors. The historical component connects our past leaders to their conservation efforts. A life persona Theodore Roosevelt, also known as the Father of Conservation is a natural fit. Participants learn how Roosevelt's is a significant leader in establishing conservation efforts. This project will enhance knowledge & ethical understanding of our natural resources. Roosevelt will be just one component of the Expo's "Heritage Encampment" area. The heritage encampment area will also include Dutch oven cooking demonstrations and sampling, blacksmith demonstrations, and war reenactment. A new piece to the Expo, Big Logz life-size building "logs" will promote educational, cooperative play while a building replica stockade that will represent the Fort Kearny Historical Area.
Open to the public
Cost: Vehicles coming into the park will be required to have a State Park Permit.
