Roots to Rise is a summer identity enrichment camp for students in grades K-8. The camp runs July 6-28 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 am to 3 pm.
Registration is required. Click here for registration link. The registration deadline for students who need transportation is June 13. Registration is open until June 24 for students not needing transportation, or until filled. (Note: transportation is only available for current Lincoln Public Schools students, but any student in the grade range who has their own transportation may register to attend.)
A central part of multiculturalism is our youth learning to love their own culture, learn healing relationships through a cultural lens, and uplifting the cultural community. Roots to Rise is a culture centered program and encourages youth to explore Indigenous culture and their own specific cultural roots as a means for nurturing a positive identity and gaining strength and confidence to carry on their cultural values for their own personal wellness and for strong communities.
