During 2020, Nebraskans are encouraged to read and discuss, “All the Gallant Men: An American Sailor’s Firsthand Account of Pearl Harbor” by Donald Stratton with Ken Gire. Stratton, who hails from Red Cloud, was one of the survivors from the U.S.S. Arizona and the only one to write a memoir honoring the 1,177 shipmates who were killed in the attack.
One Book One Nebraska is sponsored by Nebraska Center for the Book, Humanities Nebraska, and the Nebraska Library Commission. Resources for book clubs, libraries, etc., will soon be available. For details, visit or search “One Book One Nebraska” on Facebook.
