HN awards six grants totaling $9,970

Humanities Nebraska recently awarded the following grants:

Ashland-Greenwood Public Schools, $800 for a writing program titled, “Engaging Young Authors”

Elkhorn Valley Museum, Norfolk, $2,000 to fund living history presentations and other  programming for “Pioneer Day” on August 16.

Indian Center, Inc., Scottsbluff, $2,000 toward educational programming offered during the “Circle the Bluffs Powwow.”

Mayhew Cabin Museum, Nebraska City, $1,170 to bring scholar Charles Pace to portray Frederick Douglass at the Juneteenth Celebration June 27.

Boys & Girls Club of Lincoln/Lancaster County, Lincoln, $2,000 to sponsor a June 28 appearance of Terrance Simien’s “Creole for Kidz”.

Stuhr Museum Foundation, Grand Island, $2,000 to fund the exhibition,  “Voice on Cloth” by Peggie Hartwell, with related programming.
